{"id":50,"date":"2013-03-25T17:14:27","date_gmt":"2013-03-25T17:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fame.is\/workingbtb\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2014-05-22T17:59:17","modified_gmt":"2014-05-22T17:59:17","slug":"awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/beyondtheball.org\/?page_id=50","title":{"rendered":"Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mainContent\">\n<h4>recent awards and recognitions<\/h4>\n<h4>Chicago Community Trust Emerging Leader Fellow-2012<\/h4>\n<p>The City of Chicago introduced Rob as a emerging leader within the community for his work with Beyond the Ball.<\/p>\n<h4>National MetLife Foundation Community-Police Partnership Award- 2012<\/h4>\n<p>The National MetLife Foundation recognized Rob&#8217;s work with Beyond the Ball.<\/p>\n<h4>Champion of Change Award, Presented by the White House- 2012<\/h4>\n<p>The White House recognized Rob&#8217;s work with Beyond the Ball with the Champion of Change Award.<\/p>\n<h4>2011 Good Sport in the Community Award &#8211; March, 2011<\/h4>\n<p>Good Sports honored Rob and Amy with the 2011 Good Sport in the Community Award for serving disadvantaged youth through sports, fitness and recreation.<\/p>\n<h4>2011 Sports Ethics Fellows &#8211; March, 2011<\/h4>\n<p>Rob and Amy were selected by the Positive Coaching Alliance and Institute for International Sport as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalsport.org\/nsd\/past-fellows-2011.cfm\">2011 Sports Ethics Fellows<\/a> for making a huge impact on sports and through sports into the rest of society so that youth may benefit.<\/p>\n<h4>Asked to address National LISC at 30th Anniversary Event &#8211; March, 2011<\/h4>\n<p>Rob was asked to address the National LISC organization at their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisc.org\/section\/aboutus\/history\/30th_anniversary\">30th Anniversary event<\/a>, sharing his expertise and urging the importance of community building through sport.<\/p>\n<h4>The PrivateBank Norman Bobins Leadership Award &#8211; February, 2011<\/h4>\n<p>Rob and Amy Casta\u00f1eda were honored as emerging leaders for their work in Little Village and across Chicago at the 2011 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisc-cnda.org\/Past-winners\/17th-Annual-CNDA-Winners-2011\/The-PrivateBank-Norman-Bobins-Leadership-Award.html\">Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Beyond Sport \u201cMost Courageous Use of Sport\u201d Award &#8211; Fall, 2010<\/h4>\n<p>Chosen from over 400 international sports-based youth development entities from 120 countries around the world, Beyond the Ball was the only U.S.-based award winner at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beyondsport.org\/the-awards\/awards2010\/entries\/view.php?Id=858\">2010 Beyond Sport Summit<\/a>, an organization led by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair seeking excellence in using sport for social good.<\/p>\n<h4>Asked to address U.S. Congress at the Up 2 Us Summit &#8211; Fall, 2010<\/h4>\n<p>Beyond the Ball <a href=\"https:\/\/beyondtheball.org\/docs\/Up2Us%20BTB%20Congress%20Release.doc\">was invited to Washington D.C.<\/a> as part of the Up 2 Us Summit to address Congress. Our very own Bitty Ball leader, ten year-old Miguel Leonardo (seated under the flags below), addressed both Houses regarding the impact Beyond the Ball has had on his life.<\/p>\n<h4>Community Builder of the Year &#8211; 2000<\/h4>\n<p>Rob and Amy Casta\u00f1eda were honored by Mayor Richard M.
